Community Garden
Erin Stryka is fixing up and caring for the community garden. Let her know if you’d like to get involved.

Community Groups
Community Groups are not only extensions of the disciplines of grace practiced in Sunday Morning Worship and taught at The SHIP, but more intentionally, they are the place where we covenant together to live out our communal lives of service for each other and for the world. While we heartily encourage individual practices of the faith, we recognize that they only have value if they are understood as extensions of our communal practices. Community Groups are the place where we practice these communal disciplines of grace by meeting at least once a month for fellowship, service, and covenant accountability. Information about the groups’ meeting times are posted on the church’s calendar. Additionally, you may view a list of current Community Groups and their leaders. Want to start a new Community Group? Let us know, and go for it.

Neighborhood Food Pantry
We operate a non-perishables food pantry. People are welcome to take two grocery bags of food per week per family. The food pantry is open 5:30 – 7pm on Wednesdays. If you have questions, please call the church office at 913.384.1919, and leave a message with your name and phone number. Your call will be returned.

Small Groups
Several of those among us get together in gender-specific groups of 3-4 people for accountability and deeper spiritual formation. New groups form as people express interest.

The SHIP
At The SHIP, we gather on Sunday mornings to learn, discuss, and grow together. We receive grace through instruction on matters of faith, the various disciplines of grace, and our life together in community.

The Hub
On Wednesday nights, different members of our congregation volunteer to cook a meal for the community. Everyone is welcome to come to these dinners, especially people outside of our church community. We meet at 6pm in the Melvin Hunter Community Room (upstairs), and all regular members who are able are asked to contribute a couple of dollars to offset the cost. The Hub is a great place to meet new people and to connect with those whom you wouldn’t normally see during the week. We hope to see you there.
